No, the meek shall inherit the earth, you, not so much!

I've seen in many places that the Greek word that gets translated as "meek", really means "the wild horse that has become obedient to the bit and bridle." It literally is strength under control! . In other words, somebody who is the sheepdog, rather than the sheep or the wolf.

The meek person neither bullies, nor permits bullying.

Case in point, Numbers 12:3 "( Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)" and yet in Exodus 2:11-12 he kills an Egyptian who was beating a Hebrew.

In the Greek text of Matthew 5.5, the Greek word is the plural of praos which means mild, soft, gentle, or meek. It can be used of horses (gentle) or animals (tame). The same Greek word is used in the Septuagint translation of Numbers 12.3.
