We probably can’t expect much from any state, now. There are not enough people in America to make a difference. Not enough of them willing to make a sacrifice; to organize; to go galt and starve the beast they claim to loathe.

The men who threw the original Tea Party would rather have sat down at the local tavern and drunk that tea. But something mattered more to them.

Today we have fatted, complacent, cowering sheep, not citizens. Directive 10-289 will never be necessary, because there will never be enough people to deprive the government of revenue by legal means (galting), never mind illegal means (tax evasion). The threat doesn’t exist, so the law will never come about.

I have nothing but contempt for people who grumble about their lost liberty, then turn around and cough up whatever revenue is demanded by the government, when they don’t even have to break a law to live in accordance with their professed convictions.

And the place where most Americans were mentally, morally, and politically neutered wasn’t Mass. or Texas. It was, it is, in the school.

Everyone involved in producing that original curriculum should be on trial for child abuse.

Regardless of anything else, everyone in any way associated with it should have been fired. And the various districts should be looking for competent replacements for every school site employee, from admin to the classrooms, who didn’t make hella loud noise, in public, threat of punishment be damned, about this mess from the very beginning.

Intellectual cowards and those so horribly corrupted they can’t tell the difference between right and wrong anymore should have no place in education.

My 3 kids are homeschooling our 8 grandkids. No way are they sending their kids to government schools. They can’t afford private schools. Hubby and I are both engineers, so we have the math covered. My cousin homeschooled her 3 in the late 70’s early 80’s. She was a trend setter. It’s so much easier in the internet age.

Thanks for your encouraging post.

Oooh, an ad hominem! That didn’t take very long at all. Sorry, but you’ll have to address my argument on the merits. What I do or don’t do does not relieve anyone of the obligation to match their words with their deeds.

It wasn’t meant to be an ad hominem and I’m sorry you took it that way. I was just asking you to explain yourself on what I perceived as your pissy attitude (and dare I say, engaging in some ad hominem yourself) with other posters when you were asking them “what they were going to do about it?” And interestingly I note that you are not willing to answer the very same question when someone asks it of you and I also note that I didn’t really make a personal attack on your character nor on your logic, merely asked you to further explain yourself, so by definition, it was not really an ad hominem. But I digress.

I think I get what you are saying about going “Gault”. I think I understand what you are saying about not “feeding the beast”, and FWIW, I don’t necessarily disagree with you to some extent. But I don’t see that people going deep underground, living completely off the grid and off the land, making their own clothes and soap and candles out of deer tallow, not holding down any sort of a job or running a business or purchasing anything and therefore paying absolutely zero taxes is the answer either – if that is what you are advocating. While a nice dream, one I’ve thought of myself, it is not practical or achievable by a good many people and insinuating, again, if that is really what you are saying; that one who isn’t doing exactly that isn’t a true patriot or doesn’t have the courage of their convictions or is some sort of hypocrite; that anyone not doing as you do, even though you say what you do doesn’t matter and by inference, is nobody’s business, quite frankly I find insulting.

And I don’t think that tax evasion (not to be confused with tax avoidance) is the answer either. And I seriously doubt you have practiced what you apparently preach to others as it would seem you have electricity and some sort of internet connection, cable, DSL, satellite, dial up phone line (all of which are taxed), bought a computer at one point that you probably paid sales tax on, presumably either own or rent a dwelling of some sort and have utilities (all taxed), probably have a driver’s license and drive a vehicle with tags on it (taxes yet again) that uses gasoline (guess what - taxed) and have some sort of income that unless you are practicing outright tax evasion, is taxed. Yet you seem admonish others for feeding the beast when it would appear most likely, that you are also feeding the beast yourself, at least to some extent.

Of course I could be wrong; you could be sitting a one room cabin that you built with your own two hands from trees you chopped down with an axe you made yourself out of iron you mined and smelted, on land on which you pay no property taxes on because you are squatting on someone else’s, growing, raising and killing all your own food, generating your own power from wind, and or water and or solar, posting from a computer that you built from scratch from spare parts off a junked Buick and a satellite dish you made from some used Reynolds Wrap and duct tape and deer antlers. If you did all those things; congratulations! And your RL name must be MacGyver.

PS: It’s “pray” tell us, not “prey.”

Thanks for correcting my typo. I always know when someone has a truly compelling and intellectual argument and can articulate their point of view and make a good argument for it and rationally answer and or counter my post when they 1) accuse me of attacking them (with an ad hominem no less) and 2) point out a typo. /s

I’ll be sure never attack you with ad hominem again and I will also be sure to proofread all your posts in the future, not that I would ever point out any typo, but I would find it most entertaining. ; ),
