“...Why do I as a law abiding citizen have to give up the weapon ...”
You don’t. It’s a choice. You either choose to comply, or you don’t.
There’s consequences, sure; how many are willing to bear them? That’s the question.
But there is always the choice. Nobody can ever take that away.
And it’s the same choice as the Founding Fathers and the ordinary folks of their day who just wanted to live out their lives, raise their families according to their belief in God, love their land and Country, and be left the hell alone had to face. Same as us, here, now.
And they agonized over it, same as us, here, now.
It’s all pretty simple when you put it in perspective.
We’re here, we live, we do some things, and then we die. Hopefully, the things we do are good things that leave the world a little better than what we inherited.
And we inherited a pretty damned fine place, paid for in blood and lives.
We owe it to those people who paid that bill to make sure that it’s STILL here after us.
Might be a simplistic way of seeing things...but I’ve found that the simple view is often the right one...
ahhhhhhhhh...HaleRant...short but sweet !!!
If I could write that well, I could be somebody..!! :)
