Why would somebody from Massachusetts choose to be a tourist in NYC? Why not just pick Detroit?

Despite the fact that all towns and neighborhoods in MA are impeccably clean, and despite the fact that public drunkenness is completely unknown in that lovely state, the numbers sadly tell us that Boston is a much more dangerous city than New York City with significantly higher rates of violent crime.
