I am certainly no defender of the Zero in the White Hut, but in a sense the man is right on spending (but not right on calling for raising the debt ceiling so he can pay bills already rung up - these bills have not been rung up yet as the year does not end until Sep 30, 2013)

THE REPUBS ARE CERTAINLY PART OF THE PROBLEM - THEY KEEP APPROPRIATING THE DOLLARS THROUGH THE CR. Isn't that $1 TRILLION of porkulus now in the "baseline" and gets appropriate every year from now to we file bankruptcy?

My prediction - the GOP will say to Zero, "OK here is your new $2 Trillion on the debt ceiling, we will wait for the fight on the next CR extension" (in March 2013). The GOP loves to push off that eventual fight until the next big Zero engineered CRISIS.

Oh, he is not right. We think of spending as entirely Congress’ matter, and the house’s primarily. And it’s true that the house comes first and the senate second. However, for a bill to become a law the president has to sign off. Unless Congress overrides his veto, which is moot point in these circumstances. So Obama ordered Obama to spend.

Nevermind all that. He us not required by law to pay according to the bills, hell or high water. You can’t pay if you have no money, and if you can’t borrow there are other ways, but none very popular or safe. The ceiling beats spending bills. Case closed.
