I don’t like this. The guy made a very offensive statement that I don’t agree with. But he did not make a specific threat against a specific person or group and, at least from the article, there is no other evidence that he was planning a crime. If the government can arrest you for making a statement on Facebook, we are turning into a police state. Perhaps someone should have investigated or questioned this guy, but arresting him goes too far.
It appeared he was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, not specifically for what he said on Facebook.
The Facebook post gave police the hook to investigate.
