To create jobs, jump-start the U.S. economy and drive more money into the nations treasury, President Obama should forgo tax increases in his second term and instead embrace much more domestic energy production, an oil and gas industry leader said Tuesday.
Energy access, not taxes, is the key to unlocking new revenues for our government, said Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute, in his annual State of American Energy address.
His speech focused heavily on recent projections that, with the right policies in place, the U.S. is poised to become the worlds leader in oil and natural gas production in just over a decade.
In fact, North America is projected to become a net oil exporter in less than 20 years, according to recent research by the International Energy Agency, a development that would forever alter the role of the U.S., long dependent on Middle Eastern oil, in the global energy marketplace. If such increased production comes to fruition, it also would pump hundreds of billions of additional dollars into the economy and to the federal government.
There is a new energy reality for the United States, Mr. Gerard said. The reality is that our energy supply is no longer limited, foreign and finite, but is now American and abundant, greatly enhancing our national security

Energy, raw materials production, manufacturing, farming. All are the most direct forms of wealth creation. Domestic energy production reduces our trade deficit and gives us a competitive advantage in manufacturing. It aids farming both in fuel costs and production of fertilizer (ammonia from natural gas). There is a tremendous multiplier effect for the fans of demand-side economics. It adds real GDP. As the old GE saying went, it brings good things to life.
Not that an Alinskyite commie dirtbag such as that currently Occupying the white hut could understand any such thing.
Thanks for the post and link. That’s a good article and goes perfectly with this, plus those greenies are nuts.
Amen to that.
It shows the claim is not a theory, but a recorded fact of recent history.
Businessmen believe in more production and productive workers which result in a higher standard of living for everyone. They simply cannot comprehend that Obama does not want a growing economy. He doesn’t care about blacks or whites or a good, decent citizenry. He wants chaos, and that is the only way to understand Obama.
Obama will do no such thing. The oil lobby is detested by Obama. So is the coal lobby.
Obama doesn’t give a sweet shite about the economy, nor does he care about ordinary Americans. His aspirations are more lofty, Utopian, and dictatorial. You are supposed to see Obama and tremble.
I am just waiting for someone to remove Obama.
The oil industry is wasting its breath. Obama doesnt want to cure the economy.
This of course assumes that Obama wants a recovery. I do not thing that is his goal.
An energy boom helps America, but it does not put cash in Obamas pocket. So my guess is Obama is not interested.

Having been a political science major at a liberal university in the late 1970’s, I’m pretty familiar with how 0bama thinks, as well as how all the people around him think.
The first, most important, and only thing they think about is political power, and increasing and perpetuating it. In order for them to cement their communist goal of perpetual political power, the proletariat must be forever dependent upon the government. Economic prosperity leads to political independence. It is NOT what 0bama wants for his “fundamentally transformed” America. The prosperous suburbs must be destroyed, it’s conservative populations herded into the cities and made good dependent drones. In order to do that, he has to deny us cheap abundant energy.
Perhaps it is God’s grace that we have been given the means of tapping into this treasure trove of domestic energy precisely at the point we politically need it the most.
No it isn't...
* If you take out the continuing "Porkulus" that gives us 2% growth we are at 0 to negative growth.
* But that is ok if you are a Redistributionist-Engineer, because you can...
* Continue the Union Class Struggle.
* Continue to swell all Gov't assistance programs Medicare, Food Stamps, UnEmployment with no Work Requirement.
* Grow the Disability Rolls
* Grow the Unionized Job Structures in DC.
This is not about the economy, no this is about Redistributive Wealth, A 2nd Constitution of Positive Liberties without even having to get 37 states to pass it, and getting back at America and Brittan for his Daddy and his Dreams.
It would be compassionate to look at this wounded emotional child, his narcasstic daddy issues and other dysfunctionalities and get him to seek help, but the problem is he has a job that he can't be fired from or asked to leave and he is in way over his head....
He might break America to the point it can't be fixed.
I said eons ago it was like giving a 14 year old a 1966 427 Cobra SC and the keys and a tool box. And he did just what I expected and predicted. He has wrapped the metaphorical Cobra around a tree...
IMHO this is what he had done to my Country...
Out top industries are welfare and food stamps. Not this oil thingy.

Oh turd boy understands quite well. It’s just not in his plans for US.
“He wants chaos...”
Energy crisis, global warming, clean air, solar or wind, too many shootings, health care woes, bridges collapsing (soon), hurricanes, etc.
The world is in so much chaos, only a strong, powerful government can really handle all of these problems. (It is ALL about POWER.)
