Having worked in the “inner city” for most of my so called professional career, a recurring dream is that I am the principal of an all black high school and I will have to read the names of all the graduates. Make that a nightmare.

Oh I can see that. I see and hear it at my kids' school. And we are just city...not inner city.

Heck, I work at a community college in the burbs, and it is really pathetic the number of mauled names the kids have these days. I’m not talking just the obviously ghetto list, but the number of kids with names that are simply spelled wrong from the norm. I mean you will see a name on a list, and assume it is a typo (Stefany, say), but it is not.

Now I understand that a community college is not exactly catering to the upper crust of society, but getting your kids name correct when they are born doesn’t seem like a particularly high hurdle.
