Tom Coburn: I Wouldn’t Vote to Confirm Hagel

Sen. Tom Coburn said on Sunday that he would not support a decision by President Barack Obama to nominate former Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel as the next Secretary of Defense.

Appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” the Oklahoma Republican said Hagel is unqualified for the job.

“I cannot vote for Chuck Hagel,” he said. “He does not have the experience to manage a very large organization like the Pentagon.” …

Is this the same Coburn I was so crazy about, that ended up at the elbow of his “good friend” Obumma, who promptly used him and dropped him to pursue & embarrass Paul Ryan’s singular effort at doing something, anything, to help address entitlement spending, SS? The same Coburn, who spoke of Pelosi, whom he said, “happens to be a very nice lady”?

Coburn is a straight arrow, but tries hardest to do absolutely nothing with it. Ever. Why is that?

The notion that Obama equates someone's statements protected under the first amendment with blowing up buildings is so offensive that it should have brought Coburn to an eye-popping , fist swinging scream. Instead he decided his "friendship" was with Obama was of greater value to him. This was the only chance in the 2008 campaign that the subject of Obama's associations could have been vetted; Coburn needed to take up the gauntlet to have at least the chance to use the angle that could have made a difference against the media smoke screen. Coburn should just move on off the scene and go back to the practice of medicine.

Well, he does trot out that list of Government Waste at least once a year, but then again he does nothing with it does he?

I'm ready for some new blood out of Oklahoma.

Tom spends seemingly months of research on hot button issues, rolls out reams of probably perfect statistics and details, just in case a reporter or pundit invites him to show off his brain.

Then it’s back down the rabbit hole until next time. No friends apparently, certainly no coalitions, no risk taking, and above all, no use for Tea Party types, or conservative movements.

Well, after the first few times he has dragged that old Drape out to air, I am tired of the colors. Makes for a good show of hope and that's it, nothing ever comes of his parade.

I know there must be some new Tea Party type blood here in OKLA that could take him on. Inhofe is getting a little tiresome as well.
