HOUSTON (AP) — A spokesman says former President George H.W. Bush is in the intensive care unit at a Houston hospital.
Bush's spokesman, Jim McGrath, said late Wednesday that the former president was admitted to the ICU on Sunday at Methodist Hospital, "following a series of setbacks including a persistent fever."

***** “He is a good and decent man.”*****
He is also a Man of tremendous Presence (and a fantastic memory) ... I have met him twice, both times he was Vice President.
The second time we met he remembered and addressed me by my “First” name (Last Name being on the Uniform) and it freaked all my fellow shipmates out... they asked “You know him?” (It is a good story)
For a Man of such accomplishment he is so humble and down to earth.
This is just breaking my heart. Praying...
(((((Thank you, freepertoo!)))))
I hope and pray when that day comes when the Lord calls him home that Obama act presidential and give him respect.
Prayers for his health.
President G. H. W. Bush is another member of the Greatest Generation. I’ll pray for him and his family. They are decent people.
GOOD STUFF TO HEAR. THANKS!
Maybe we can get a movie made of his life, by someone we can trust, like Gary Sinese.
also added to my Wish list:
Rush buys the NYTimes and Boston Globe
“he has 4 sons and one surviving daughter.”
I’m lucky to remember Jeb and Dubya. :)
Thats a great photo. Thanks. He will be in our prayers.
I.E. four more Bush presidents are possible!
Bushs first real job led all the way to the Presidency. That is the reason he smiles.
He was very much a CIA spook and with all his ominous NWO speak, one really does have to wonder...
However if the NWO conspiracy theorists are correct you would think Bush Sr. would have access to all that infamous supposed CIA life extension tech...
I.E. four more Bush presidents are possible!
That's IT! I am out!
One has to wonder which image you are talking about?
My grandmother died from pneumonia... Not good.
Pneumonia is like a broken hip, it leads to all sorts of things that 9 out of 10 times leads immediately to kicking the bucket if you are over 80....
Prayers for President Bush and his family. In Jesus Name.
Our local news in Dallas just reported that his condition is “guarded”....fever is spiking....
Best wishes to George HW Bush and for his continued good health. I have been recently socked with a number of bugs over the last 3 months (contracted from a co-worker who has a daughter in a Chicago day-care center and he was pretty sick for quite a while from all the bugs going around in 0bama’s old stomping grounds) and now I am almost over it - one thing that helped with stomach problems and coughing was in my case was making sure I ate broccoli - it helps suppress stomach infections and cancer and suppressed a nausea problem I had.
I’m sure GHW sees this like I do. He’s had a long and exceptional life, filled with achievement and fulfillment far beyond the experience of most Americans. There is no doubt that he’s lived a blessed life.
There’s every chance that his body has finally worn out, and is ready for final retirement. No shame in that. If that’s the case, then I wish him smooth passage to the next life.
I do not like broccoli and I havent liked it since I was a little kid and my mother made me
eat it. And Im President of the United States and Im not going to eat any more broccoli.
Now look, this is the last statement Im going to have on broccoli. 22 March 1990
Yes, my heart is breaking as well.
It must be horrible to lose someone around Christmas.
...”It had to have been a difficult Christmas for the Bush family .....prayers for him and the entire family.....”...
Yes..Our prayers are with them.
...”Ive had a bad feeling for the last week. When you are 88 an in the hospital that long its not good. I hope something happens and he recovers but Fox News says all three sons are there so Im sure the doctors told them to stick around. Very sad.”...
And, I think a daughter is flying in from somewhere else. Where there is life, there is hope, but he has been sick now for a few weeks and his age makes resistance harder. I had my flu shot but got an upper respiratory viral illness anyway about four weeks ago..Some effects are still with me..Lots of folks around here have had this virus..I expect President Bush began with something like that..The elderly are very vulnerable during flu season.
I love this photo..
Nope, not possible. Only W and Jeb, of the 4 sons. The other two sons have absolutely nothing to do with politics for themselves, never have, never will.
The daughter likewise.
Many grandchildren in the family so there’s that.
Jeb’s son George P is getting ready to run for office in TX so I hear. Haven’t heard which office.
His other two sons (besides W and Jeb) have never been into politics for themselves and never will be. Same goes for his daughter. Time to get real. All of these people are getting old themselves. Their life patterns are long ago established. So, no, what Revolting cat! wrote about the number of potential presidents isn’t true.
There are quite a few grandchildren. Of those, the ONE we hear is planning to run for office (here in TX) is Jeb’s son George P.
LOL. I am Bushbot 2.
Not to mention all the grands!
One of the most decent men to hold that office. God bless President Bush and his family.
It isn’t correct that his surviving children are possible presidents. Neil Bush, Marvin Bush and daughter Dorothy have never, and will never, run for office. Time to get real. They are all getting old themselves and personally desire no political office. Of the grandkids, so far only Jeb’s son George P wants to run for office. He’s expected to do so in TX but don’t yet know for which one.
No one was advocating that any of them would actually ever run for president, exactly. Unless you are a Bush family member using words such as never, really are not correct either.
It’ll be Bush Presidencies as far as eye can see, you’ll see!
and if he weren’t of the approved faith he would be condemned?
I’m glad your god is not my God.
I don’t know what scriptures you read and don’t much care.
Unless you have God on the phone and can put him through to me, I file your stuff away with the rest of the fundamentalist nonsense.
I will not tell my son, a Jew, that he is somewhat less than because some vituperating snake handling reverend from the bible belt says so.
Your belief is in a sheaf of paper, not the Almighty. otherwise you would repent yourself of your narrow minded Calvinist bigotry.
Thank you jazzlite.
I think he is going to be OK.
