The nice thing about living in the south is everybody has a gun. It’s considered abnormal to NOT have at least one.

For now.

Remember that the Snowbirds migrate from NY/NJ down here to Miami and Tampa, and they bring their politics with them.

How long before crap like this pops up in Florida newspapers?

This one surprised me. The school SROs in Mobile, Alabama are not allowed to carry guns.

MOBILE, Alabama —
A shooting on the campus of LeFlore high school earlier this year prompted talk of re-arming school resource officers. Right now—schools across the state are forbidden from arming their security force. State Senator Rusty Glover is introducing legislation for the third time to allow school boards in Mobile County only to decide whether they want school resource officers to pack heat.
“These resource officers are highly trained many are former police officers so they are someone that's going to use a lot of good judgment whenever making decisions in times of crisis,” says Rusty Glover. It would still need the thumbs up from school boards like Mobile County—board member Dr. Reginald Crenshaw says arming school resource officers would lead to gun battles not safety.
