I had the same glasses as a kid. Broke a few. Once I lost them in the Wisconsin river, or at least that’s what I told my dad. He found out through the small town talk that I got into a fight and they broke and I hid them. So love that movie based on my own experiences.

I was 11-12 and being bullied by a guy named Melvin.
He was chasing me across the schoolyard one day, when I'd had enough.
I let him get close, dropped down so he would trip over me - and like Ralphie - discovered my Irish temper and beat the krap out of the guy.
