Lookit, I know petitions don't mean a damm legally. Furthermore, I don't care if the 2nd amendment applies to him or not.
But let me say this.....any petition with thousands of names including a media "celebrity" name inspiring the petition will actually get a modicum of attention....from the internet media, from the conservative media....from many in CNN's audience....and from the Brit Twit himself.
So I'm going to have some fun by signing my name and I'm not going to twist myself into a pretzel thinking of every academic reason not to sign.
We deserve to have some lightness once in a while....and poking our collective fingers at that lightweight prig of a socialist talk host is going to make my day.

It’s just a public condemnation.
Nothing will come of it except everyone’s right
to exercise free speech in a public forum against a visitor who publicly incited discourse to the laws of the land they were visiting.
Two people from UK visiting the US were deported this year for posting on twitter they were going to destroy the US. Any of us did the same police would investigate the seriousness of the threat and make charges if appropriate .
All visitors to the US are given the same protection as any citizen.
Rights given to citizens aren’t necessarily given
to any visitor.
