You make very valid points. Not all kids (or people, for that matter) commit acts of violence but,all things considered, they might be more prone to such acts than “normal” people. From years of personal experience I can assure you that firearms aren’t the only things that qualify as “deadly weapons”.One vital lesson that must be learned here is the importance of keeping firearms away from certain people, including those with certain psych conditions.

You’re totally and absolute correct about what deadly weapons are. I served in the Army. I was special ops. I witnessed a violent crime one day. intervened and rescued a woman from her husband trying to kill her. I subdued the guy using military techniques. The guy got an attorney, need I say more, and sued me for causing physical damage to the moron. The attorney claimed I was a ‘lethal weapon’ and the idiots in the jury convicted me of using excessive force/. I didn’t do any jail time for saving his wife’s life but it cost me a ton of money. From that day on, I told myself, I will not get involved in any type of situation, no matter what.
