Lately it seems like our leaders constantly want to discuss things with us. It used to be that principals and doctors would want to discuss things with us, like our grades or lack of exercise. Now everyone single time theres a crackdown it begins with a serious discussion.
Attorney General Eric Holder made remarks a short time ago on the tragic school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut, where a 20-year-old gunman killed 20 children and six adults. Holder appeared to suggest the countrys gun laws may need to be looked at more closely in the wake of the latest mass shooting.
As a nation I think we have to ask ourselves some hard questions. We gather too often to talk about these kinds of incidents. We need to discuss who we are as a nation, talk about the freedoms that we have, the rights that we have and how those might be used in a responsible way.
Please, by all means, lets have a discussion about how the Second Amendment can be used in a responsible way from a man who ran a gun candy store for Mexican drug lords.

The fight on gun rights vs. gun control has begun.
The only real way for the government to ban guns is to take them one by one.
Obviously there will be no mass banning THAT way, so .. the government CANNOT ban guns ... they can only TAKE individual guns.
Gun control is not about guns, it's about control
(I can't believe I actually said something that has been said and in print gazillions of time in the last 50 years.)
Isn’t he still in contempt of Congress? If the cowards in Washington aren’t going to jail him, then at least deny him the right to speak to Congeress about unconstitutional gun laws.
I’d like to open the discussion with why many people do not take their second amendment responsibilities seriously. We need not just to discuss why the federal government required the CT teachers to be unarmed, but whether the federal government should have any role in these strictly local issues. We need to discuss drastically reducing the size of the federal government starting with the Dept of Justice (112k employees).
It's not about guns...it's about OUR ablility to recognize erratic behavior and being able to report it instead of hearing "well he hasn't done anything"....
Eric was not elected to anything. He was appointed to enforce laws.
If he gets himself elected to a position of power i will listen politely
We describe this as mental illness and that plays a part, however, it is simply our death culture. Confront evil and recognize that if the principal was armed this could have had a different outcome.
Last of the article:
But by all means, lets have a serious discussion about why the states with the highest rate of gun ownership have the lowest rate of gun violence.
Hey Eric - the only responsible way is to get all the guns from the bad guys first. Start there.
I can just hear Holder testifying before Congress, “We've banned guns & knives, yet people are still being murdered as often as before. Statistics show murderers are now using bats, so the President proposes an end to baseball, cricket, tennis, & badminton.”
A better way for Holder is to force people in public to restrict their arm movements such that they cannot attack another person. Perhaps handcuffs or some other binding of the arms.
Surely, this is a better way than banning every inanimate object?
Four more years of the Keystone Justice Department with Holder as the Head Dick.
Some wit should ask Holder to “discuss” what life will be like for Holder in a federal prison after he leaves office.
I’d like to discuss how to ban Holder in a responsible way....
The government has been partners with drug people for years. That’s why they are never really caught. Our system is a system of deal makers where everyone makes money but the people. War on Drugs my you know what.
If someone decides to take mine, there will definitely be a serious discussion!
As far as I’m concerned, it’s time for the liberals to admit their misguided “gun-free” zones don’t work, and get out of the way of those who will protect themselves and others from active shooters.
Instead of talking about gun free fantasy lands, we need to be talking about what standards and training should be required for regular people to carry concealed weapons everywhere they go.
