President Barack Obama is not ready to accept a new offer from the Republican leader of the U.S. House of Representatives to raise taxes on top earners in exchange for major cuts in entitlement programs, a source said late on Saturday.

The shape and details of Boehner’s offer were uncertain Saturday night, as was the exact reason the president was prepared to reject it. …

Tax rates and entitlements are the two most difficult issues in the so-far unproductive negotiations to avert the “fiscal cliff” of steep tax hikes and spending cuts set for the new year unless Congress and the president reach a deal to avoid them. …

Obama got a new jolt of arrogance whenn he got a chance to change the narative and play the part of the concerned, weeping president over the Newtown school shootings.

This is similar to the timing of hurricane Sandy that hit the northeast.

He always manages to stumble on to some crisis that gives him renewed energy and that he can twist to his advantage.

"At this point, Boehner should say in a memo to Obama:"

That's not the way GOP politics works. It was known many decades ago that the implementation of 'socialism' in a 'democracy' is a one-way ratchet. The GOP has not learned this lesson even now!

If we are going to cut back on spending, we need to bring back US jobs.

Now.

I sure would like to see the R’s get as mean and evil as they’re portrayed. Block everything. Give NOTHING in negotiations. The R’s opening offer should have been zero spending above the level of last years tax collection. Period.

John Boehnor is the single most pathetic political hack I have ever witnessed with the speaker’s gavel in his hand. Nazi Pelosi was better. She knows how to wield power. Boehner wants power but does not know how to use it.

What if John Boehner had just come out weeks ago and told the press that maybe Obama won the election but the GOP got over 53 million votes and they have a responsibility as the loyal opposition to fight for their political ideals. Then go back to his office and start to work on a budget, put it up for a vote in the House, pass it and go home for Christmas. Let Barry stew in his own juices for awhile.

My guess is that if Boehner had played hardball and disengaged Obama would be breaking his door down right about now to make a deal. But that did not happen and we are all going to have to endure the abject humiliation that comes with being a Republican in 2012.

Boehner has got to go. The Conservatives must unseat him and elect a new Speaker. I have already contacted my US Rep and told him to vote no or abstain when Boehner comes up for re-election. I urge everyone else to do the same.

I think that you miss the larger strategy of obama's refusal to cut a deal.

This is not about the economy or any "fiscal cliff". This is all about the dems taking back the House in 2014 and giving obama an un-restricted carte blanche in his last two years.

He has already won blame-game. He will rejoice in private and lament in public the hardship that the GOP House will cause by refusing to support his solutions. He will ask the American voter to remove the obstructionist House GOP members and give him a team he can work with. And, the idiot populace will give him what he wants.

Once he has the Senate, the SCOTUS and the House he will drastically and permanently change this country, which has always been his intention. When he is done we will think of his first two years as "the good old days."

That, my FRiend, is the game.

Who is supposed to be President? BO is always waiting for Boehner to come up with the answer.

I’m reminded of 2008 during the September Surprise. McCain suspended his campaign and rushed into the mess. BO said (an exact quote) “Call me if you need me,” and continued to campaign.

let me ask a question
when was the last time you had a pleasant interaction with a liberal?
i refuse to talk to them, just stop talking to them.
what the puppies in the house should do is
pass a bill extending the bush tax rates and increasing the medicare age limit and go home and enjoy christmas and let b.o. figure out what to do from there.
Talking to those #$%^% is just insane.

Should be no more complicated than Boehner saying (over and over, the masses are a bit slow), “We’ve made a generous offer to settle this thing. Your move.”

Then sit and wait.

It will end like it always does: with Obama getting pretty much everything he wants and Republicans expecting praise for promises that never materialize.

Full Steam Ahead On Obama’s Theft Of IRA’s And 401k’s

Angry Obama SC Full steam ahead on Obamas theft of IRA’s and 401k’s

What is going to happen to our 401 (k) accounts and IRA’s after January 1? Will the retirement accounts for which many Americans have sacrificed so much to accumulate be rolled over into federally issued and guaranteed bonds in order to prop up notoriously under-funded, union pension funds across the country? Getting an answer will prove to be daunting, especially as media attention seems focused on little but the impending “fiscal cliff.”

Listening to a poignant, impromptu speech given by Linda from St. Lucie County during the Allen West recount makes clear just how hard she worked to raise three daughters on her own. It’s a story that certainly puts a tear in the eye and an ounce of worry into the heart of many listeners. ”I worked hard to save that money. We went without,” she said, getting more emotional with each word. ”Now, what’s going to happen to 401 (k’s)?” she asked.

My daughter is wondering the same thing as she and her husband will have four boys in college next year. And she sacrificed to save for her retirement when she was a bank employee. She had a gun put to her head during two separate robberies!

Linda and my daughter both want to know what the Obama administration intends to do after January 1. Is the national media so distracted by fiscal cliff hype that news concerning the potential federal theft of countless trillions from American citizens will not be forthcoming prior to January 1st?

A source in Montana said the feds are hoping to turn 401 (k) and social security funds into federally administered bonds, thereby dumping even more privately-held dollars into the D.C. money pit. Another source thinks that such a fund may be used to bail out Obama’s union pets, namely the failed pension plans of big labor throughout the United States.

I don’t think the dems can get the house because the idiot populace has found out what suckers they are and the free candy isn’t coming.
Your right about the SCOTUS they can’t be trusted with Obama in office.

I am not saying that obama will get control of the House, I am saying that it is his strategy to go over the "cliff" and continue to use the MSM to blame the GOP House for the crash landing.

I don't know if the strategy will work. I could argue it either way and there are many unknowns that could pop up before 11/14 that could be game-changers.

I do though strongly believe that they believe they could pull it off and are committed to giving it a try.

If we see a deal before January then I'm wrong. If obama continues to reject every offer from Boehner then it would give great credence to my theory.
