Amid the confusion and sorrow, stories of heroism emerged, including an account of Hochsprung, 47, and the school psychologist, Mary Sherlach, 56, rushing toward Lanza in an attempt to stop him. Both died. If one or both had been armed perhaps both would be alive and fewer children would be dead.
But it is not politically correct to say such obvious and logical things.
Certainly the AP would never be so crass as to mention such hurtful facts while parents are grieving. /S

Absolutely correct, armed, trained teachers and other staff would have greatly lessened the carnage and given the school the means to defend the children. Those who mandate gun free victim zones are major contributors to mass murders in schools, theaters, malls and the like. There should be a legal means to hold the decision makers responsible for making everyone vulnerable to such attacks.
