Sounds eerily like Israel and the Torah, doesn't it?

While I wanted to believe 'this time would be different', it appears mankind is doomed to repeat the same mistakes, cyclically, in perpetuity.

LOL, if you read Genesis 1-2-4 very carefully, that is exactly what it implies. The key word is the Hebrew for "finishing" everything He had made. Check it out in a lexicon. It means to wipe out, as in "finishing" a glass of wine. The flood. The Sea of Suf. Two exiles. Revelation. Although what He had made was very good, not so with everything He created.
