As a civil engineer, my work involves dealing with environmental regulation on a routine basis. The regulations are a way of “paying for the sins of our fathers” and do nothing for the environment. To make matters worse not only must we deal with environmental justice we now have to submit reports on Cultural Justice as well. That means we have to explain and potential create solutions to offset project impacts to the minority cultures that may be affected by the project. This involves such things a impacts to cultural celebrations, publishing information in their native languages, etc, all because federal money is involved...
