A few states have opted out of the “Common Core”

Texas and Virginia are two.

I **THINK** Alaska and Wisconsin have also

A few states have opted out of the “Common Core” Texas and Virginia are two.

I'm not so sure about Texas. I just got this in email yesterday:

"On Saturday morning I sent you the alerter below to Wayne Richard’s radio program dealing with a curriculum in many Texas schools called CSCOPE. (I can’t imagine that it – or something like it – is not in schools across the country!)

I listened to the program – and you MUST too! It will be archived on Wayne’s website by Monday noon. www.WayneRichardShow.com

FOR QUICK ACCESS TO WHAT WAS BEING TALKED ABOUT – go to www.CSCOPEreview.com and just click around, read articles, if you live in Texas see the huge list of schools where this is already in place!

The program is highly secret – no textbooks, online only in the schools … no one can look at it at home. Parents are not allowed access. Many teachers are disturbed because they must teach it and not talk about it.

The CSCOPE curriculum has a lot of Agenda 21 things in it – purposely “dumbing down” Americans, lots of groupthink vs individual initiative & concern. Incorrect instruction is rampant – Columbus was a terrorist, 2nd Amendment means only militias can have guns, Christianity is a cult, and on and on. (Lots of details on the website, including teachers’ horror stories!)

The woman interviewed by Wayne is Janice Van Cleave, a retired science teacher who has written many textbooks. She pointed out that the method of instruction used by CSCOPE is “vision learning” – not fact-based, but discussion groups getting kids to share how they feel about a topic at hand. The resulting consensus constitutes what they learn about the topic!

In Texas, the curriculum has been put together and implemented by the Educational Service Centers around the state – not seen at all by the State Board of Education! As a start, we can tell our legislators, as they begin the new session, to give the SBOE review & approval power over ALL curriculum!

Sorry I’m rambling, but I’m truly concerned after hearing this program. So – PLEASE do two things:

1- Go to www.CSCOPEreview.com and begin to learn about this

2- After Monday noon, listen to this interview with Janice VanCleave on www.WayneRichardShow.com
