It's not too hard with the Socratic method. Ask in turn who was president for each of those wars, and then answer. Take it slow, do one at a time.
If creating a $15 trillion dollar unfunded liability is good policy, is it any wonder that we are bankrupt? The prescription drug program is just another entitlement program we can't pay for. Were SS and Medicare, "policy-wise, not bad?
You do realize that the premiums for Medicare Part D only pay for 25% of the costs to the USG. The remaining 75% comes from the General Fund where the USG borrows 42 cents of every dollar spent. I don't understand why anyone would consider this good policy.
At least the Democrats went thru the phony exercise of "paying for" Obamacare. We all know that it will cost much more than that. Medicare costs nine times what it was originally projected to cost. So now we have another huge entitlement program, Obamacare, that will add to the deficit and consume more and more of the federal budget. It is insane.
Except ... it grew the government and did NOT help the GOP politically. ALl the Dems did was move to the next target.
Yes it hurt the Reps politically and it negated its position as the party of limited government. It also was divisive internally since the legislation would have never passed without Dem help. The bill passed 216-215 in the House.
The Dems have now closed the donut hole under Obamacare making it even more costly.
