Unlikely that this is nerve gas. None of the chemicals in the bottles would be used in organophosphate nerve agent synthesis. The guy simply was not wearing the correct protective gear for nerve gas ( a charcoal dust filter from 3M). He mixed two chemicals together in a flask and it generated a gas that fairly quickly killed the rabbits.
The glass aquarium was not sealed very well, there was a simple sheet of glass on top. If he’d used sarin or tabun he’d be at considerable risk. Note that he had an open beaker of some stuff with a flame under it, if that was Part A of a binary nerve gas it would be pretty dangerous.
Two likely possibilities are cyanide or hydrogen sulphide. Easy to make and would kill the rabbits quickly, then deliver a stern warning. People will assume it’s nerve gas because that’s pretty scary.
A very effective propaganda video but do not assume that this represented a deployable chemical weapon.
Thanks for the info.....definitely a fearful video ....as they intended.
Your are correct sir. Most likely cyanide witness the dark color of the reaction in the erlenmyer flask. Cyanide mixed with an acid base to vaporize it. Another key is it was heavier than air. It slowly slowly bubbled out of the flask filling the bottom of the aquarium. Sarin in weaponized form is clear and very light. It would not have been contained by the aquarium. The other giveaway is as you noticed his “3m” filter mask. That would not stop sarin. He also had exposed skin and no source of oxygen to breathe. If it had been something virulent like VX he would have been dead before he put the flask down. I still say we nuke em for torturing the bunnies!
