If the GOP “caves” on raising taxes on “the rich”, the commie ‘RATS and their toadies in the state controlled “media” will trash the hell out of the GOP for raising taxes on “the rich”.

To the contrary, I believe the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms will sneeringly congratulate the Republicans for "finally doing the right thing", and then promptly proceed to the next phase of their agenda wherein they chide the Republicans for demanding spending cuts that are akin to pushing granny off a cliff.

See, it's lose-lose for the Republicans. They get blamed for higher taxes AND pushing granny off a cliff. Caving to Ubanga at this point would gain the Republicans not one single vote. On the other hand, caving to Ubanga would turn off so many conservatives in the party base that it would kill the GOP. No joke. Dead as a doornail.
