Only 16 Members Can Unseat Boehner, Group Says
Breitbart.com/Big-Government ^ | 12/05/12 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 12/05/2012 4:06:39 PM PST by Fred

The president and CEO of conservative group American Majority Action (AMA) is demanding Republicans band together to fire House Speaker John Boehner.

“Speaker Boehner has been an abysmal failure as speaker, and his latest purge is the nail in the coffin for conservatives,” AMA’s Ned Ryun said in a statement. “Boehner has never won a negation battle with the White House or Senate—and he’s been nothing short of an embarrassing spokesman for the Conservative Movement. It’s time for him to go.”

Ryun pointed out, too, that if conservatives want to unseat Boehner, they’d only need 16 members to abstain from supporting him in January.

It will not play out like that - good grief - the knives are out and ready to stab, we are not alone in wanting this fool out....

Before you make a move it is a essential that you have an accurate count of how many votes you have.

How many votes do you have that are solid and can't be bought back by the Boehner by promising choice offices or committee assignments?

This game is deadly serious within the caucus but doubly so within the government.
Republicans only control one half of the legislative. The democrats control the presidency and the senate.
We have a rouge president, and the only ones that can put a ring in his nose is the republican house.
I am not particularly fond of Boehner but starting a firefight in the house seems a little chancy to me.
Who do we have in the house that is ready to step in and unify the troops and with enough skill and connections to do the job we need done?

Because he has TRUCK LOADS OF MONEY and only a self funded millionaire could come close to challenging him.... you ask, where did the Speaker get all the bucks? from his masters the lobbyists....

go to opensecrets for more info on who funds Boehner.

Or one legitimate primary challenger in 2014 who knows how to campaign.

Make suggestions, unlike liberals and rinos, freepers are open to discussion. I have some ideas on who NOT to pick as has been stated by many on this post...

Well said. Fellow freepers, many of us have no intention of ‘picking’ on anyone, however, we all need to get up to speed on the basics.

It would be the best thing to happen since the abysmal failure extended his stay in November.

The speaker of the house does not even have to be in a member of the house of representatives. Pelosi is eligible to be speaker if she gets the most votes for speaker. Here is the section of the constitution that applies:

Clause 5: Speaker and other officers; Impeachment

The House of Representatives shall chuse [sic] their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment. Section Two further provides that the House of Representatives may choose its Speaker and its other officers. Though the Constitution does not mandate it, every Speaker has been a member of the House of Representatives.
