I should think rather that it is tied 1) to blowing off the GOP attempts to negotiate or rebuff his diktat on the "cliff" tax-trap, and 2) to removing his Mohammedan self from all that Christmas paraphernalia at a time when, as someone else pointed out, other Moslems also go on vacation.

Wherever he's staying, I'll wager a nickel that one room has a subtly-marked qibla in one corner.

I've got another nickel says he comes out as a full-turban Moo before he leaves office. It would be such a coup for the RoP. He won't be able to resist, and we'll find out what he's made of.
