I stopped reading Consumer Reports during the last century when they gave Nikon 35mm cameras a bad report, citing the “shockingly” high numbers returned for repair. They neglected to mention that Nikon was the Nr. 1 camera carried by war correspondents, journalists, combat and free lance photographers of the day. From El Salvador to Viet Nam, and the Belgian Congo. No photog worth his salt covered a bush war with less than 3 Nikons strung around his neck. And, yup they got the snarf beat out of them after thousands of frames, and had to be repaired.

I stopped trusting Consumer Reports after I purchased their number one vacuum cleaner and it was one of the worst vacuum cleaners that I ever had.
