“I had my camera and in all the chaos the door slammed and I got hit in the head with the flash,” said Nell Redmond, a freelancer for the Associated press.

Sounds like the “freelancer” had her face and camera inside the swing of the door. Obviously, AP needs to provide training for their “freelancers”. Say 20 - 40 hours of learning how to avoid opening and closing doors with a test afterwards requiring a score of at least 70%.
