My understanding is the Fajr-5 missiles are as long as a telephone pole. But they can be broken down into 3 pieces, approx. 8 feet in length. Then smuggled through the tunnels into Gaza Strip.

According to Al Jazeera, the missiles can be fired by remote control. Thus, counter battery fire may destroy the launcher, but not the crew.

Would add that such a scenario would no doubt force IDF to conduct ground ops. Sweep and clear. Methinks this is what Iran desires. Keep Israel off balance. Bogged down in Gaza. Buy more time for their nuclear weapons development program.

Not being sarcastic, but I wonder how long before one of these Fajr-5 gets tossed south out of the Lebanon or Syria itself?
