The Myth of the Missing Three Million Republicans
The American Thinker ^ | 11-12-12 | Jack Cashill

Posted on 11/12/2012 5:38:48 AM PST by afraidfortherepublic

A score of people this past week have asked me about the three million Republicans allegedly "missing" at the polls this year. For starters, if the Washington Post is to be believed, Mitt Romney received 1.3 million fewer votes than John McCain did in 2008, not 3 million. For the record, Obama received 7.5 million fewer votes in 2012 than he did in 2008.

More than 1.1 million of the Republican votes were "lost" in California. It is not that California Republicans turned against Romney. His percentage of the vote was higher than McCain's in 2008. It is just they know their votes were in vain in that increasingly absurd state. The same is likely true in New York State where Romney fell more than a half-million votes short of McCain's totals. Excluding these two states, Romney received 300,000 more votes than McCain.

Oh, I see, the fact you agree with the MSM demonizing purview of conservatives candidates tells me all I need to know about your brain function!

No, this comes from observing the debates unfiltered by the MSM and simple unvarnished facts regarding Mr. Cain's affairs and Mr. Santorum dropping out before the PA primary.

Romney had SUCH a stellar past himself, he was the perfect candidate, much better than the other three.

Romney was far from perfect but much better than the other three.

I am no longer a republican and will do everything in my power to defeat the STUPID party

I am sure Rosanne Barr and Cindy Sheehan will welcome your support.

The republican's have lost 3 out of the last 4 elections

Apparently your knowledge of data analysis is as weak as your knowledge of politics. This is called the interval selection fallacy. Let me play the same game. Republicans in the post World War 2 era have won 9 of 17 elections. And those with Eisenhower, Nixon, Bush 1, and Bush 2 whom I am sure you call RINO/GOP-e. The other two are from Ronnaldus Magnus who I do not know how you evaluate. After all, he never balanced a budget and signed into law the Simpson-Mazolli amnesty.

Ha! Yea, that abortion thing, and the gay thing, and Masscare thing were stellar examples of how much better the RINO was than those other three. Look, you buy what you want too, it's still America.

I'm just glad I'm rid of you sorry ass republicans!

They won't, but I'm sure "conservatives" will.

I don't care what it's called, I'm right because I have FACTS, you have BS!

Ha, different time Sherlock! The GOP of the pre-80s was so different because people and culture were different. The fact you have to go back that far is not only ludicrous it's so far from this day and age we live in people actually had standards as a nation.

It's ok, if you think Romney was the best choice then that's why you and the republican party will keep on losing.

I have absolutely no sympathy anymore for republicans/GOP/RNC/supporters. I don't even have to write, 'NO MORE RINOS' any longer because I have unregistered as a republican and no longer belong to the STUPID/LOSER party.

As far as I'm concerned it's the republican't party now!
