Your health care analogy is flawed. You left out the large number of people to whom you need to provide “free” widgets when they show up at your counter...thus increasing the cost of the widgets for the rest of your paying customers.
Of course, that will NEVER be addressed...I’m still pissed at Reagan for signing that law back in the 80’s. Of course, it wasn’t entirely his fault...the law indicated that you ostensibly had to provide a basic no-frills widget. But NO, you decided to provide those who show up for free widgets with equal (possibly superior) product.
