“We, who are so dependent on and oblivious to the fragility of our man-made environments, are effortlessly brought to our knees by the forces of nature. The northeast is being schooled by the same teacher who has been educating those who can/will learn from previous lessons along the Gulf & southern Atlantic coasts.

I am struck by those crying in despair in the NY/NJ streets because the be-all Government was not there immediately to help them with the basics such as food and water. People are outraged because folks evacuated ‘without socks’ - where the hell are the socks? they are screaming/crying to the media cameras. The coming economic collapse is going to be horrible and people are going to be crying in the streets briefly, then turning into animals when basic instincts like hunger kick in (seeing some if this now - looting, etc.). The west coast is way overdue for a massive earthquake which will make Andrew, Katrina, Sandy look like a walk in the park. Only the Self-Reliant will survive ... and unfortunately, those hearts will have to be hardened to those who have not done what they need to do to take care of themselves or all will perish. Between the pictures of what is happening with Sandy & the re-election of Obama, this is hitting home big time with me right now ... BIG time ... eyes wide open.”

police said ice and snow contributed to the deaths of two people in a car whose driver was speeding

They want me to believe the driver wasn't to blame? Same mentality as those who whined about starving to death the minute Sandy passed and the same mentality of those who were out without socks. No apologies, but I laugh everytime the msm reports the no socks meme.

Back during Alicia, one apartment complex got their water and power restored but after another 2 weeks still didn't have hot water. Someone finally decided to check on the furnace. Duh, it needed to be lighted. Amazing what a little self initiative can accomplish.
