I don’t know about remorse, but everywhere I went today, people did seem down, not happy at all. This was after seeing so many happy people at the poll the day before — half Obama voters, half Romney. People were cheerful in line to vote. Didn’t see anyone cheerful today. Interesting.

The mood was pretty subdued in my neighborhood too. I couldn't look most people in the eye because I was afraid I'd start ranting "You voted for our destruction! Look what you've done! I'm ashamed to call you my neighbor!"

No, I think it will sink in with these people just what it is they've wrought.

No fireworks, whooping and hollering, or car horns going off in my neigborhood last night. It was quiet. Dead quiet.

I recall a similar thread with similar feelings the day after the election in 2008. While it might be that the next 4 years will be similar to the last 4 I think there will be significant difference. Sadly for the worse.

It’s interesting that you say you couldn’t look anyone in the eye today — that is what I saw at the stores today. Heads down like everyone was avoiding looking each other in the eye.

Marked difference from 2008 when people were jubilant in my area.
