funny, my dtr was conservative like me until she met her husband....now she is just over the edge...
her idea of news is NPR....
don't wish bad things on my children, but boy, they certainly deserve it...
I've suggested to them..all of them...to get govt jobs....I want to tell them that if they want statism, they should join the state workforce, but they probably wouldn't know what that means...
If my socialist daughter wants gigantic statism, hates capitalism, and would rather “fundamentally change” our country, then why should she benefit from my lifetime of sweat and toil in a free and prosperous capitalist society? The past few weeks, I’ve been mulling over writing her out of my will. Or maybe tell her half of her inheritance was given to a conservative charity because she dislikes capitalism so much. Or maybe require her to get a degree with straight A’s from Hillsdale College before my executor will pay her a dime. I won’t do these things, of course, but I’ve sure been dreaming about them a lot lately. I don’t want to be vindictive to my own flesh and blood, but she has me boiling mad. She’s a smart woman totally devoid of common sense or any knowledge of how the world works... a typical mid-20s brainwashed skull full of mush.
Our experiences are very similar. My daughter were nicely conservative, veered libertarian with the gay issues, now just plain lefty. We cannot discuss politics any more. What I am resenting most is the smug, holier-than-thou attitude. She works at being respectful until it comes to politics, then you can see her swallowing her tongue.
Have any of your lib friends’ kids turned conservative or is it only a one-way street? I’ve only seen it go that one way.
