Conservative Mike Pence has won the governors office in Indiana, despite a stumble by Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock.
With 87 percent of precincts in, the former congressman had 50 percent of the vote compared to 46 percent for Democrat John R. Gregg.
Pence will replace term-limited GOP Gov. Mitch Daniels.
Pence is former chairman of the House Republican Conference and also former leader of the conservative Republican Study Committee. Hes also a member of the Tea Party Caucus.
Republicans also picked up a governors seat in North Carolina, with the victory of former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory.
McCrory becomes the states first GOP governor in 20 years.
Pence is now well-positioned for a shot at the GOP nomination for the 2016 presidential election.
I moved to IN and I can say Pence ran a smart campaign. Very positive, compared to that idiot Gregg. Murdoch should have done the same thing.
The number of negative adds by Murdoch were too much. That rat socialist Donnelly ran a more positive campaign. I believe you should do both, but have more positive ads than negative.
Pence did do a smart thing. He started many ads by saying his campaign is not negative, which is a nice way of getting negative without really doing it.
SFW, aren’t we done with the republican party yet??? Have many times are we going to endure their LOSING rino or just downright STUPID (Akin) candidates! It’s over, at least for me. I’m a conservative without a viable party!
Big deal. There will not be enough people of his way of thinking to vote him in as President. The Federal Government (aka the Democrat Party) now, literally, rules over the lives of the average Americans to a degree unknown to past Americans. It consists of an alliance of blacks, hispanics, homosexuals and assorted sex perverts, illegal aliens, stupid young white kids 18 to twenty years of age, and single welfare mothers topped off with media connivance and massive organized vote fraud. It won't matter who will be running in 2016 for the Republicans.
Your Post #5 is 100% accurate.
With this election, I fear we have passed the last exit ramp on the superhighway to socialism.
I hope he runs.
This the liberal Party establishment told him to get lost and took a shellacking with a weak liberal candidate in November.
This country has stupid people but the people of Indiana redeemed themselves from four years ago.
Pence has a bright future.
Like Rush said, "You cannot win an election against Santa Claus".
off topic....Now that my IN is a deep red state, can the state refuse to participate in Obamacare, per Robert’s decision?
*I’ve lost faith in the GOPe/Repubs. Not in God ;)
