Buy gold and buy guns. When the inevitable economic meltdown occurs, it will be the only way to survive the chaos. Someday soon welfare and social security recipients and public sector unions will be cut off the gravy trains - not by any political decision - but simply because the government will no longer be able to borrow money to keep the ponzi scheme going. Greece is run by leftists who are as much in love with public spending as Obama but they have had their day of reckoning. America is next. A slim majority of Americans want to use government power to steal what the other 49% has. That is a recipe for economic armagedon and destruction of the social order. The die has been cast.

I don’t think it will be that dramatic. I think the standard of living will simply go into a long, slow decline, and most of today’s youth won’t really care as long as they can mentally check out with iPods and gameboys, drugs and sex. If the surging populations of Hispanic Catholics and Middle-Eastern Muslims are eventually sucked into the same fat, lazy spiral, humanity will just gradually sink into petty, squabbling mediocrity with a life-span of about 65 years, and an acceptance of very limited personal space or freedom (rather like a zoo animal). And let’s face it: it’s all most of them want, need, or deserve. Those of us who are different will carve our own quiet path away.

” Buy gold and buy guns.”

What if obama issues an executive order banning private ownership of gold? FDR did that in 1933 and it wasn’t repealed until 1974 by Gerald Ford.

I would say tradeable commodities and guns and ammo. Gold will be useless in an economic meltdown. Can't eat it and can't shoot it.

The democrats have already spent all of everyone elses money. Last I knew, they were printing 4 billion a month to keep the economy alive. Now that Oboma "won", businesses are going to start laying off like crazy because of Obomacare and taxes.
The dollar is disappearing. Eventually, a loaf of bread will cost a days wages, and those welfare cards won't bring in the freebies they used to. The democrats are going to get hungry, but there will be nothing left to steal for them. The scrounging grasshoppers have outnumbered the ants. All the ants can do is prep, and wish the welfare the democrats the best of luck. They'll be on their own.

"Buy gold and buy guns."

Nice advice, but who the hell has the money to do that? I don't.
