1. I’ve been joking to friends for 20 years that I drive my cars until they die or I do. Then if I’m still alive I buy another used one. I can afford a new one, even to pay for one outright, but I won’t.

2. I look at the people in a mad rush to get the latest Apple gadget, flat-screen HDTV, or OS upgrade and shake my head. Spending my wealth on such things only benefits Zero and I won’t do it. I do just fine with what I have.

3. I vacation at home.

4. I stopped going to the movies years ago. I stopped watching the Oscars two decades ago. I will NOT support the Hollywood Left. Two hours of entertainment isn’t worth it. I’ve found ways to entertain myself. I started writing fiction, and I find it very entertaining. Hint: don’t worry about ever getting it published. Just have fun crafting a story that you would like to read.

I look at the people in a mad rush to get the latest Apple gadget....

Here's a tip for those wishing to get the most milage they can out of their old Apple gadgets: specifically, laptops.

I learned about it years ago when I took my previous laptop in for repairs. I forget what the specific problem was, but repair of the problem was going to cost me north of eight hundred dollars.

When I showed no sign of getting the repair, OR of replacing the laptop, another, older, Apple Store associate told me about their"'package deal."

For $300 they will repair/replace absolutely EVERYTHING that is questionable, excepting the display.

I snapped it up like a hungry mackerel.

I was absolutely flabbergasted at the list of stuff they replaced when I got my laptop back! It was like having a brand new computer, and they replaced my old hard drive with an even bigger one, to boot!

I used this program again a few years ago, so I'm still running my first gen Intel MacBook Pro, and see no reason to replace it anytime soon. If it hadn't been for my prior PowerBook running the obsolete Motorola chip (thus limiting me by newer software/hardware integration issues), I'd still by using that one.

Hope this helps other Apple fans aiming to starve the beast.
