Thank you, Bill. I’m actually doing OK. Spent the night at Daddy’s, but may go home again tonight — I am glad to have a large cast iron dutch oven in which I can cook nearly anything. (I haven’t tried bread yet, but that’s a project for later in the week.)

Hubby’s been amused to watch me and wonders how a girl born and raised in NYC can have so much Laura Ingalls in her. LOL

Anyway, thanks for the good wishes.

Regards,

” Imagine where they would be without Obama’s strong leadership. He showed up for that cameo with Christie for a few hugs and heaps of praise and then off to the campaign. Who could ask for more?”

Uh...me.

” Maybe Bloomberg will do the GOP a favor ny running as the Dem POTUS nomineee in 2016. “

Isn’t Bloomberg a registered Independent as of 2007?

A registered Weasel? He doesn't sound "independent" to me.

Bloomberg's Obama endorsement is a vote for big government in time of crisis

What I learned from watching C-Span, is that Independents are people who are simply too embarrassed to admit they are die-hard Democrats.

C-Span breaks it’s call-in lines down to three categories.

Democrats - Always defend the party line
Republicans - Always defend the party line
Independents - Always defend the Democrat party line

I know some will say that they are Independents and they don’t support Democrat policy. I have yet to hear one of them calling in and disagreeing with the Democrats though.

While I feel bad for ordinary folks caught in the middle of this in New York and New Jersey, in the back of mind, a little voice keeps repeating “But You guys voted for this fascist little B*tch Bloomberg”...”You guys voted for Democrat control of Jersey over and over again.”(Christie notwithstanding, and he’s a RINO so...).

You voted to allow yourselves to be disarmed. Now you are, and the thugs aren’t. Sucks, doesn’t it?

You voted to allow NY to coddle the thugs that are now roaming your streets, looting and acting true to form. So here they are. Sucks doesn’t it?

You voted to allow the union thugs to turn away VOLUNTEER help - good, decent, people who would rather be with their families at home, but who came out to help you get your power back on anyway, and they got harassed and treated like dirt by union thugs who would rather have you sitting in the dark, the cold, and the wet than let any non-union people help out- and now you in fact still ARE sitting in the dark, the cold, and the wet. Sucks, doesn’t it?

So, at the end of the day, I don’t have a lot of compassion.

Let New York take care of itself. Same with New Jersey. You want to be Democrat states, then deal with typical Democrat responses to emergencies - non-action, inaction, and incompetence.

Reality sucks sometimes. This is one of those times.

Sucks, doesn’t it?

When there’s widespread damage from twisters here in Indiana (like in March of this year) there’s an immediate flood of volunteers that pour in with chainsaws, pickup trucks, etc.
Cleanup begins within hours.

Watching the news from NY/NJ I get the feeling everyone is sitting around waiting for FEMA or somebody to do the work?
Is this true? Or are volunteers kept out because they aren’t working to union scale?

Thank you so much for your kind regards.

About to leave for a political rally near a freeway entrance/exit. Will catch traffic coming from 2 Naval bases here - one Naval, the other Seabees.

Carrying Romney/Ryan signs, local candidates, and signs lifting up Benghazi.

Leavin for a ‘fumy’ afternoon - actually it’s not bad!

Then at 7am Tuedsay we all will take up a post for high traffic commuters heading for the freeway

Been trying to decide where to send a donation (the widow's mite)

Don't really trust the Red Cross or the Sally Army - too many bureaucrats.

Finally decided to send to the Gary Sinese Foundation.

He is good solid Republican and I trust him.

BTW Any of you watch CSI New York?

Gary is getting side-lined by Sela(?) Ward. Perhaps he is being punished for his political views by the libs. in Hollywood.

Bloomberg is a lifelong liberal democrat.

In 2001 he became a “Republican” so he could get elected Mayor without navigating the racial mine field that is NYC rat primaries or having to take orders from the machine once elected.

Then he became an “independent” after he was reelected but was still given the GOP ballot line to run for a 3rd term. I would have voted for the regular democrat in 2009 if I lived NYC, I shite you not.

If he runs for President he would be foolish to do so as an independent candidate, he would ensure a GOP win.

He would probably run as a rat, like John Lindsey before him.

I actually think there is a good chance he might, and he could win the rat nomination.
