Even if only ten percent of them drive, that’s 800,000 people trying to jump on five fueling points. And that doesn’t even count generators. Ten gallons will get you two days of minimal generator use to keep the fridge and freezers cold.
Temps will be dropping into the 30s in NYC this weekend. Refrigeration will be among the least of their worries.
“Even if only ten percent of them drive, thats 800,000 people trying to jump on five fueling points.”
Better to light one candle than to curse the darkness; it is surreal here. I don’t know what else they can do; the situation is mounting because now people who had to use their gas (for driving or generators) are being joined by people who thought they could get through it now looking for their first gas since the storm hit (again, for driving or generators). The dropping temperatures will put even more of a strain on generators, and there may be snow early next week.
