I really reacted to News 12 New Jersey’s prediction (24 hours before it hit) that 80% of NJ would lose power; went shopping at a 24-hour Shop-Rite and gassed both cars. As far as I can tell, more people should have been told to evacuate (I’m not whining - we’re OK), but I can’t imagne where they would have put so many people from the coasts of NY, NJ, and CT (remember that many people who left New Orleans basically never went back; they are spread across several states to this day).
How far inland did the surge reach? The surge was the biggest problem.
Oh God please no more NY or NJ people here in North Carolina....
