937mb isn’t close to the worldwide record (Typhoon Tip, 870 mb), Atlantic Hurricane (Wilma, 882 mb) or the record for the US; It will end up setting the record for lowest pressure in New Jersey/Delaware, and probably Maryland and Pennsylvania.

The European ECMWF model, which is generally better than American ones, consistently showed Sandy hitting the US for quite some time.

Yes, that’s true. I was addressing the regional record, where this is hitting and beyond north.
