Police and federal agents are searching for a man who threw a Molotov cocktail-like incendiary device inside the Ballston Common Mall. [Now found and arrested.]

The man threw what was described as a “flaming bottle” from an upper level of the mall down to the food court. The device, said to be 40 ounce beer bottle, possibly containing gasoline or a similar substance, shattered on impact but did not explode, according to Arlington County Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck. No one was injured.

There was an attempted terrorist attack on shoppers at Ballston Mall yesterday in Arlington. I'm posting this because the media is ignoring this.

The Feds have him and not the Local police.

I'm going out on a limb to profile the guy based upon the photos. He's a goat-loving Moslem.

Are you sure that this wasn’t just another film critic?

I realize your comment is meant to be humorous. But on the chance it was not, I doubt it was a disgruntled movie critic. If true, he would have blown up one of the theatres instead of the food court — which is a large space with many people in it. He wanted to kill or injure as many people as possible.

I think it’s foolish to jump to any conclusion that eliminates terrorism. That’s the Obama Administration’s and the media’s standard operating procedure. One does not commit arson openly and publicly in the middle of the day. The fact it was done when the Mall was crowded clearly marks it as a terrorist act. What’s to dispute? Killing innocent civilians is the essence of the terrorism. The only question is who is behind it?

Most arsonists don’t want to get caught. Most don’t want to kill people. They want to watch a fire, not screaming people.

This was not arson because dropping it into a crowded food court does not fit. The only thing flammable down there would be the chairs and the people. He had three firebombs and was too stupid to build them properly. I assume after the first one didn’t have the desired effect, he abandoned the other two and ran to the closest mosque, Arlington has a few.

Break his arms and legs for information. Then shoot him. No trial for terrorists. America has no guts and don’t give me this trial bull shit.

I did not rule out 'terrorism'.

' Killing innocent civilians is the essence of the terrorism.'

No, its not. Terrorism is simply a method. IRA used a different blend of terrorism to achieve there goals, AQ uses a different one as well.

However, some people just like to harm and hurt people. There are actual arsonist and people like that out there. Nor, would I label every dam crime terrorism.

The punk could be a 'terrorist' but he is also a failed arsonist.

There’s no evidence whatsoever he was trying to commit arson — so I think you’re taking a leap of faith that defies the facts.

I reiterate that it is also foolish to immediately discount terrorism. I think the circumstantial evidence, in fact, points to terrorism.

I can reveal - on the basis of experience - that trying to get away with something like this anywhere within a considerable radius of DARPA headquarters is a very bad idea. That’s all I’m sayin’.

Too many muslims running around loose. It’s just a matter of time until there’s another horrific attack somewhere.

And the White House is a base.

I didn’t see a Facebook page for Leon A. Traille — the name of the suspect.

'Sternbeck said the crime Traille is accused of — tossing a glass bottle, with a lit wick and containing a flammable liquid, into the mall food court — was likely not an act of terrorism.

“Right now we don’t believe it’s an act of terrorism,” he said. “It’s more like it’s an act of stupidity.”'

The guy is an idiot and probably had mental issues.

The most destructive part in the article is the reference to our laws : 'Federal charges, which may supersede the local charges, have also been filed'.

Once again the State is subject to the Federal Authority of our country. We have enough laws on the books.

Ballston Mall is right across the street from the National Science Foundation. Even money says this was just a bored egghead attempting to prove a federally-subsidized hypothesis.
