A Fowl Claim About Chik-fil-A?
American Spectator ^ | 9.19.12 | AARON GOLDSTEIN

Posted on 09/20/2012 8:22:18 AM PDT by kingattax

An Illinois LGBT group is claiming that Chik-fil-A will cease giving money to groups which support traditional marriage and oppose same sex marriage.

This claim is based on a letter submitted to The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) by the WinShape Foundation, a non-profit organization funded by Chik-fil-A, indicating they would reconsider who would be allocated funds in the future.

The letter was apparently sufficient for Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno to drop his opposition to Chik-fil-A further expanding its business in the Windy City. Yet something seems fowl about this whole thing.

If TCRA's claims are true then I would like to hear it from Dan Cathy himself. TCRA did not release the text of the letter sent by WinShape nor did it indicate who signed the letter.

So something doesn't quite smell right to me. Given the overwhelming public support of Chik-fil-A in response to the heavyhandedness of local governments in Chicago and here in Boston; an about face would be a slap in the face to those who stood with Chik-fil-A this past summer.

I just can't see Chik-fil-A being bullied into surrendering its First Amendment rights. At this point, I'm not ready to call Chik-fil-A chicken

The splinter weirdo groups are going to force companies to quit any charitable giving.

I told you guys so! Just because a homosexual group claims something is true, that does not necessarily mean that it is true.

Homosexuals make some of the best liars and con artists around (see bright homosexuals, Kirk and Pill). People should have waited for word from Mr. Cathy before condemning chick-a-fil on this issue!

In other News.
Chicago Alderman Joe Moreno to Chik-fil-A “Abandon God and you can come to Chicago”.

Chick-fil-A response “NUTS”.

That would rule out contributions to most reigions and I can't see Dan Cathy agreeing to that.

Doubtful Cathy would cave like this. Something is amiss.

I think if you parse it, you'll see that Chik-Fil-A isn't promising anything, but the fruitcake lobby is "declairing victory".

Dan does have something a bit backward in this issue.
Acceptance of homosexuality won’t bring God’s judgement,
it IS God’s judgement.
Re-read Rom 1:18 - 32, but especially close on 18.

But what we need is for Chick-fil-A to tell us so in very specific terms as their policy relates to the claims of this gay group. And they have not done that so far.

The many reposts in earlier threads of prior CFA statements does not clarify whether they will, or will not continue to donate to organizations that support traditional marriage.

That fits with the overall Leftist goal of making the Government the source of all charity.

I'll bet they were catching heat and they're trying to make it look like they got a win instead of a lose by insinuating chik-fil-a's non-profit caved to their demands.....therefore damaging their brand as well.....P>Excuse me lord,....but This is Bullshit!

Speaking of which, when last I was at San Jose’s very own Chick-fil-A I noticed it wasn’t crowded.

Local FReepers take note, and make a point of eating there, please?

True, and I suspect that this is a misrepresentation while in retreat by the Gay Nazis.

They didn't get public support while Chick Fil a garnered overwhelming spontaneous general public support, a huge loss for the GN's, and likely irreversible.

Chick Fil a had always been non discriminatory in all practice in the company, so the Gays demanded they be non discriminatory, in response, CFA restated their policy and specified it was non discriminatory.

It is likely that the Charity support section of the company never contributed to any political campaign, only to legit charities. Defense of marriage organizations are political, not charities, so, no change that the Gays falsely trumpeted as an agreement.

They have MSMed a huge loss of public support into the perception of a victory.

"In meetings the company executives clarified that they will no longer give to anti-gay organizations, such as Focus on the Family and the National Organization for Marriage"

And the next time Dan Cathy decides to 'negotiate', he needs to hire a top media handling org, because this is exactly how these people operate. I guarantee you anything that was said or written down in those meetings was out of the room before the door opened. Just because you're a Christian vanguard doesn't mean you operate blindly or without regard to modernity.
