I agreed with a lot of what Buchanan said, but it was a disaster for the GOP in terms of the impact on the election
No one else did or said anything that, Voo Doo economics, thousand points of light, new world order, read my lips, no new taxes George H Bush did to himself.

George H Bush was elected to carry on after Reagan.

George H Bush was a miserable failure and it was HE that was the disaster for the GOP in terms of the impact on the election...period.

But Buchanan’s speech actually drove a lot of moderates to either vote for Clinton or Perot, Bush did just fine with Conservatives. But I do agree that Bush didn’t help his cause.

Agreed.

As for Clinton, I didn’t watch. I doubt most who weren’t already Clinton groupies did. It was preaching to the choir. How does that win an election in such perilous times, with the incumbent losing support on all sides of his base coalition?

So, women wanted to sleep with and vote for Clinton? How does that translate to zer0? I must really be old and out of it, because I think they are both unattractive in the extreme. One wants quickies with no regard for the woman and the other is less than manly. EW!
