OK I'm going to embrace Conservative Jews on this site but I'm also going to embrace all Jews. We “fundamentalists” have done such historical harm to our Jewish brethren. Last night when my daughter called and told me about the interview she did with Mr. Siegel and all the hoopla that was going on, I wept. It was very ironic that Scottie, who has been raised in a Messianic home where we have celebrated Passover for the last 22 years, came face to face with this man's anger and hate in her interview with him at the DNC.

I heard this exact argument Mr. Siegel put forth from my best friend, a liberal Democrat Jewess, fifteen years ago. It's an old, common and trite argument but one that is held by many liberal Jews. It has taken my friend 15 years to trust my fundamentalist Christian witness and yet last week she called me a murderer saying I would shoot an illegal immigrant to keep them out of the country. I gave her no reason to say that and was appalled that she would accuse me of something I would not nor could not ever do. So I've learned to take the “Jewish anger” and deflect it with compassion because if I would have walked in their shoes, I too might be saying irrational things.
Please pray for my daughter that this video be used to lance the boil of hatred that brews just beneath the surface in so many Jewish and Christian people's hearts.
