I turned the television on just after he began his conversation with the empty chair and thought "what the heck is this; seems pretty weird for a national political convention - funny but weird." Frankly, I was also a bit concerned that ole Dirty Harry might have lost a bullet or two from his chamber.

I have since seen it again and had a different reaction. Just from a comedic acting perspective, I think Clint was brilliant. It was like he was channeling his inner Jimmy Stewart. If it true that he was ad libbing or otherwise doing it without script, he was beyond brilliant. I will be very happy if I can do a routine like that when I am 82. Some of the commentators who were most upset about it (can you hear me Wolf Blitzer) need to find a sense of humor.

Besides what could be more appropriate to symbolize our empty suit of a President than an empty chair?

How the hell any media commentator gets the right to knock someone like Clint, I'll never know.

Only goes to show that the media is so damn loyal to the Dems, politics aside, can't even recognize someone like Clint as just plain "good" people.
