A Brownsville man is behind bars after he allegedly sent a series of sexually explicit text messages to an 11-year-old girl he reportedly met on Facebook.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigators arrested 25-year-old Juan Carlos Cuellar on Tuesday.
The Brownsville man is behind bars at the Cameron County Jail under an on-line solicitation of a minor charge and an immigration detainer.
Court records obtained by Action 4 News show that Cuellar sent at least 300 text messages to the girl back in May.
The investigation started when the girl's mother took the girl's cell phone from her to discipline her in an unrelated incident.
Records show that the girl's mother discovered a sexually explicit photo on the phone and took it to authorities.
DPS investigators focused on 42 messages that allegedly revealed Cuellar met the girl on Facebook and knew her true age. Among the messages were:
"Would you have a baby with me?" "Well, yes, but I would ask your parents for your hand in marriage." "In love there are no ages. I am going to give you a house, car and many other things." "Hey this weekend I'm going to Chaparral u wanna go?" "Wat time do you get out of school?" "I'm here on Military. I have my tire shop here." "Can u sneak out tonight?"

Other PARENTS will guilt trip you by saying “Don’t you trust your kids?”
Our kids don’t have texting until they go to college.

I think they should only have phones that can call 911 & NOTHING else!!!
I would allow the ability to filter out by the contact list, so that only the parents can call them.
and vice versa.
No camera would be a plus...
