"It’s all part of the rituals of the peaceful religion. She’s lucky he didn’t on the spot divorce her."

Actually, that he didn't divorce her is not lucky, she would have been better off without an a-hole like that. But being a muzzie, the next a-hole wouldn't have been any better anyway, so....I guess that's all she has to look forward too.

Years ago, my daughter's class was doing a field trip to a mosque. I refused to let her go and I told her idiot teacher that I don't agree with the way Muslims treat women.

I didn't want a daughter of mine anywhere near those freaking animals. To me they belong in a zoo, not in public.

During my time in Saudi Arabia in the early '90s we sometimes saw women in and near the shopping areas sitting on the sidewalk begging. It was explained to us that often these women were widows or divorced, and had no other choice to survive. They could not work to support themselves, nor did they have any chance of remarriage, since they were "used goods" (so there wasn't going to be a "next a-hole"). This woman probably has to make the tough decision between the occasional beating and potential starvation and the loss of her children.

Plenty of women in this country insist upon staying in abusive relationships despite the right to work and earn a living, and the opportunity to remarry after divorce.
