As the United States continues to help Israel improve its missile defense shield due to growing fears of possible attack by Syria and Iran, claims by Iran that it has developed its own ‘carrier-killer’ that can evade U.S. Navy defense systems to hit ships in the Persian Gulf are drawing skepticism from naval experts.
As first reported by Jane’s Defence Weekly , Iran released images of a test last month in which the Khalij Fars antiship ballistic missile was launched and struck a moving target. The missile is purported to be a smaller version of China’s modified Dong Feng 21, which was quickly dubbed the ‘carrier killer’ after it was revealed in a March 2009 report by the U.S. Naval Institute.

AGREE, obozo is the best thing that has ever happened to the Muslim countries. Re Iran’s carrier sinking missile; the US has a country sinking missile, kind of like the knife to a gun fight scenario. obozo won’t respond to anything Iran does so if Iran is going to get froggy militarily, they better be jumping pretty soon.

Lol, another “carrier is obsolete” story. Like a carier ever goes anywhere without nuclear attack subs prowling, a screen of escorting ships, etc.
Theres no such thing as a carrier, just waiting for an attack. And if the Dong Feng 21 style missile acually is used to kill a carrier, then you just bit the big one. Because that means you just shot a nuclear weapon at an American fleet. About a half hour later, very bad hot things begin happening to your homeland.
Modern Electric subs like the Germans build are the greatest danger to a carrier. But attacking a carrier is still signing your national death warrant.
