Ryan’s budget plans increase federal spending into infinity. That is a surefire job-killer.

Wake up.

http://www.conservativehq.com/article/9185-paul-ryan-vice-president-not-so-fast

Richard Viguerie

...Many in the conservative movement admire Ryan’s gumption in proposing a plan to return the federal government to fiscal sanity.

The problem is the Ryan plan uses the Washington, DC version of sanity.

When Ryan’s “Path to Prosperity” budget plan came out in April of this year, it was roundly thrashed by grassroots Tea Party and conservative activists because it provided for spending to rise to $4 trillion over the next five years.

Even worse in the minds of Tea Partiers, Ryan’s proposal reduces deficits but does not eliminate them until 2040 — 28 years from now, according to the CBO analysis. The “Path to Prosperity” document includes projections for the public debt between 2011 and 2021, and it shows debt going up every single year. Ryan’s budget shows the debt increasing to $16.2 trillion in 2012 and rising every year after that up to $23.1 trillion in 2021.

The slogan, “Bad, but not as bad as Obama,” isn’t going to garner many Tea Party or conservative votes.

Paul Ryan gets a lot of points for proposing a plan to reduce federal spending, but he is no “boat rocking” conservative. When Tea Party and grassroots small government constitutional conservative activists look at Paul Ryan’s record of supporting TARP, supporting the debt ceiling deal and supporting the Bush administration’s spending binge, they are likely to say “Not so fast on Paul, Mitt.”

Sorry, you don't pay for pensions received by retired postal employees.

The system isn't set up like your little rinky dink school board deal where they just shovel the bucks out in the street

The abortion “pain bill” is immoral and unconstitutional, failing as it does to provide equal protection for all.

No points there with this pro-lifer.

“Let’s go further, Landon, Willkie, Dewey, Nixon (First Run), Goldwater, Ford, BushI, Dole, McCain ~ that’s pretty much the list of GOP-e candidates ~ and they all lost.”

That is a pretty good list of weakling Republicans alright, and Romney will fit in there quite nicely if he loses.
There is something different about this election, however, with the exception of McCain these weak Republicans lost to democrats that were at least loyal to America. Obama is not loyal, and in fact there is pretty good evidence he is not even an American by birth, and it is obvious he is not American in his ideology. The Obomanation sitting in the White House has to be defeated and there is simply no chance of replacing Romney on the GOP ticket, and the third party candidates are just pissing in the wind.

The Post Office is running a (massive) deficit.

How about we do something about that. Like maybe cutting back?

Huh?

Ask Congress. You had two Postmasters General in a row tell them cutbacks were needed, and they proposed them to Congress which promptly in a very bipartisan way REJECTED THE CUTS.

I wrote up the definitive proposal for cutbacks back in the mid 70s. They start with closing down 28,000 unnecessary buildings and laying off about 100,000 unnecessary employees. That went to the Postmaster General for his consideration ~ and one item was accepted ~ to no longer change zipcodes on folks whose post office had been shut down.

So, tell me, did you ever vote for a member of Congress who thought USPS should be allowed to cut costs?

BTW, USPS Is not running a deficit. They are running out of money and have no more resources to tap. Department of Defense, Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, Department of Cr*p and Stuff ~ they all run deficits and tap your wallet every day.

Not sure.

However Romney is now the nominee, for all intents and purposes.

Period.

It’s Romney and Ryan, or four more years of Obama.

America cannot stand four more years of Obama. We’re already broke.

We’ll be ruined.

Get over whatever it is, which has you in such a state. If you want to start campaigning against Romney (I might be with you, will see first) then so so AFTER we defeat Obama.

That is less than 100 days from today.

Focus please.

Run a primary in Virginia that has some candidates and i’ll tell you. Given a choice between a fool and a crook..... that’s not a choice.

You've already said the second part. You're avoiding.

OK, my primary has all people who are eligible. Hundreds of millions of people. Which one or two are you going to vote for?

This is not a zero sum game.

Unfortunately, for your position, it is a zero sum game. Either Romney will win and Obama will lose or the opposite of that. There are no other possible outcomes.

Vote for who you like but if it is not Romney then it is a plus for Obama.

Period.

muawiyah, you could be Bob Beckel's best friend forever! You share a sneering, condescending style with him. I'll bet you're all puffed up and dress like it's still the 1970s like he does too. LOL

Oh, the 'hypocrite' thing? Hypocrisy is something in the mind of the one who imagines he sees it. It's a delusion ~ sometimes surgery to relieve the pressure of a tumor will help.

You might not think it's a serious problem with you, but Mohammad was driven to death threats and said 'Kill the hypocrites" ~ your friendly neighborhood baby killing liberal friends also would like to 'kill' those of whom they suspect hypocrisy but everybody else in this country is armed to the teeth so don't any of you guys get any ideas you can get away with it.

I had money taken from my AFTER TAX INCOME to pay for my pension. That came out of my pocket, not yours. In fact, the type of objection you're making suggests you regularly entered mail without paying postage. It's not too late to 'fess up you know.

But USPS didn't run on federal tax dollars ~ they operated on the fees charged for mail services. My salary, and therefore my pension, arose out of that conjunction of need and service. That you still think you own postal employees is a topic for another time ~ in the meantime read the 13th Amendment over a few times ~ you lost that war.

It's entirely possible to throw this election into the House of Representatives. All it takes is a tie between the two main candidates with one guy somewhere else getting a single electoral vote.

The numbers are showing the election is probably close enough to do that.
