"The fact that the guns were not locked up and that one of the hand guns was loaded is a major concern, Fossum said, because of the risk they could be stolen if the home was broken into."Uh, if the house was "broken into" that implies that the weapons were already in a locked enclosure (the house). If being in one locked enclosure isn't enough to reassure the hoplophobes, what evidence is there that being in a locked enclosure inside a locked enclosure would do so? If they go into someone's house and find all the guns inside a closed and locked safe, will they be allowed to claim they were stored unsafely because someone could "break into" the safe? That to be safe they should have been inside A THIRD locked enclosure inside the locked enclosure inside the locked enclosure?

I'm still working on the idea that "mean looking guns can't kill animals." If I figure that one out then I'll try to understand how stolen unloaded guns can't be loaded later by the thief.
I have a feeling the Constable's wife bathes him, dresses him and pins a note to his shirt with directions back home each day.
